Peaches, Peaches, Peaches! I am very excited to announce that we are now selling peaches from Southern Illinois, Rendleman Orchards. These delicious 25-pound boxes will each be $45 for Farm Bureau members and $50 for non-members. A special perk of Farm Bureau Membership is when you use cash or check to purchase your peaches you will save an additional $1 on each box of peaches. Carroll County Farm Bureau Hosts Bus Trip to Field Day: On July 31 the Carroll County Farm Bureau will be hosting a bus trip to the Jo Daviess County Farm Bureau field day. The bus will leave the Carroll County Farm Bureau Building at 10:45a.m. and return at 5:15p.m. This program is free to Farm Bureau members in good standing. Greg Thoren will provide insights on how to integrate livestock onto row crop operations and more. The bus trip also includes lunch. To reserve your spot or with questions please call 815-244-3001. Warrens Cranberry Festival Bus Trip: Travel with the Stephenson and Carroll County Farm Bureaus to Warrens Wisconsin on Friday, September 25th for this annual three-day event recognized as the world’s largest cranberry festival. The festival features three miles of booth frontage with 800 plus arts and craft vendors, 350 plus flea market and antique dealers and 100 plus farm market booths. Our bus will leave the Freeport Walmart at 7:00a.m. and arrive at the festival around 10:00a.m., leave the festival around 3:30p.m., dinner on the way home with the estimated arrive time home to be 8:00p.m. If you’d like to join us tickets for Farm Bureau members are $60 and no member $85. Stephenson County Farm Bureau Ag Olympics registration due Friday, July 10: The Stephenson County Farm Bureau Young Leaders will be hosting Youth Ag Olympics on Thursday, July 23 at 6:30p.m. New this year! We will be splitting teams into two age brackets. Teams will be placed in the bracket of their oldest team member.  Maximum of ten (10) teams consisting of 5-7 members each, age brackets are 8-11 and 12-16 (must have at least 5 members). Each team must include at least one female team member. Competition in 6 events (to be announced). Cash prizes for the winning teams per age bracket of $100 (1st), $75 (2nd), and $50 (3rd).  All other participating teams will receive coupons to the Hog House and Beef Corral. Teams are encouraged to wear team shirts/matching outfits. Special awards will be given for team name creativity, team outfit creativity and best team spirit. Registration forms can be found at www.stephensoncfb.org  under the “news” tab.
